U channel Post was once the favorite of many municipalities, but it use has been greatly reduced in the San Diego County region over the last several years with the widespread acceptance of the more versatile square tubing sign post system.  U channel posts are of cold rolled galvanized steel, have 3/8" holes punched on at least the upper third of the post and weigh approximately 2lbs per foot.  Traffic Supply, Inc. stocks U channel posts in 6, 8, 10 and 12ft lengths, and can cut them down to meet your requirements if necessary.
